Consejo Breve y Atención Plena para dejar de fumar: un estudio de caso

Se presenta un caso clínico de un hombre de 51 años con dependencia al tabaco con una media de 52 cigarros fumados diariamente. Objetivo terapéutico: abandono del uso de tabaco, mediante estrategias que reduzcan el síndrome de abstinencia, el estrés y ansiedad. Método: Se aplicó un programa de 10 sesiones compuesto por Atención Plena y Consejería Breve. Para la redacción de este caso clínico se han seguido las normas de Buela-Casal y Sierra. Resultados: Al finalizar el tratamiento y durante el seguimiento el paciente se mantuvo abstinente, comprobado mediante un marcador biológico de cotinina en orina, así como una clara mejoría en los síntomas de ansiedad y estrés.Â
