La Inteligencia Emocional como estrategia de prevención de las adicciones

La búsqueda de nuevas vías de prevención del consumo de drogas y otras adicciones es incesante, ya que las que actualmente manejamos siguen siendo insuficientes para cubrir todos los objetivos preventivos. El cuerpo teórico y aplicado de la prevención de las adicciones se ha nutrido, como hemos visto, de diferentes disciplinas a lo largo del tiempo y continúa en esa misma línea de acción. El estudio de la inteligencia emocional en general y como estrategia para afrontar las adicciones en particular, se incorpora hace relativamente pocos años a la investigación, pero en la actualidad ya ha desarrollado un buen número de publicaciones (Canto, Fernández-Berrocal, Guerrero y Extremera, 2005; Fernández-Serrano, Moreno-López, Pérez-García y Verdejo-García, 2012; García del Castillo-López, 2011; García del Castillo-López, García del Castillo y Marzo, 2012; Hill y Maggi, 2011; Kun y Demetrovics, 2010; Madd, Erwin, Carmody, Villarreal, White y Gundersen, 2013; Muñoz, 2009; Limonero, Tomás-Sábado y Fernández-Castro, 2006; Riley y Schutte, 2003; Ruiz-Aranda, Cabello, Salguero, Castillo, Extremera y Fernández-Berrocal, 2010; Schutte, Malouff y Hine, 2010; Trinidad, Unger, Chou, Azen y Johnson, 2004) que la convierten en un baluarte potencial de amplio recorrido para la prevención del consumo de drogas y otras adicciones.
