Abstract
We can assume risk percepcion has been always considered in all prevention studies about both drug dependency and addictions as an important variable with a high impact within initiation and maintenance of consumption. In fact is considered risk perception could influence decision making of tasting a new substance or something liable to create addiction. Nevertheless theoretical conceptualization is not clear enough in scientific literature nor measures and influence ways to create an effective barrier against consumption either. It is speculated youth with high risk perception are less likely to begin a consumption against youth with less risk percepcion through the not demostrated fact of a regulatory function in the consumption motivation. It is analysed risk perception concept based on several theories of social psychology, showing models explaining this variable in order to contextualize it into an addictive disorders framework.
