Focus and Scope

Health and Addictions/Salud y Drogas (HAAJ) ISSN: 1578-5319/ISSNe 1988-205X publishes theoretical and empirical, qualitative and quantitative articles with clinical, theoretical or psychosocial perspective on treatment, prevention and reintegration, epidemiological, basic and descriptive studies on drugs, addictive and problematic behaviors as well as the promotion of healthy habits, promotion and intervention in the field of Health Psychology. Health and Addictions/Salud y Drogas will publish, on a limited basis, case reports of particular relevance and scientific quality that make a significant contribution to the health-related literature. The details of the submission of papers according to the type of paper, the required format and the relevant instructions can be found in the document Autor's Guidelines. The journal is financed thanks to the collaboration of the Miguel Hernández University in the form of various grants for its open publication, as well as the possible participation in public grants that may arise.

Peer review process

Articles submitted to HAAJ will be reviewed anonymously by at least two external peer reviewers who are experts in the topic or thematic area of the paper, using the double-blind method. In order to maintain anonymity, the authors will avoid that the text contains keys or suggestions that identify them. Upon receipt of the manuscript, the system will acknowledge receipt of the paper to the corresponding author. The deadline for initiating the review and detection of plagiarism will last a maximum of two months. Once the review process has begun and if there has been no eventuality in the process, the authors will receive a response of acceptance, resubmission or rejection within a maximum period of 6 months. Final acceptance may depend on improvements or modifications to the work proposed to the author by the layout designers or the editorial board.

Frequency of publication

Health and Addictions / Salud y Drogas publishes two issues per year (semiannual publication). When the paper is definitively accepted, it will be published in the Online First section with the corresponding DOI and will be available until it is included in the next issue in which it may appear.

Fees

HAAJ does not charge any fees to authors for publishing their work or to readers for accessing articles.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate free access to its content under the principle of making research freely available to the public, which encourages greater global knowledge sharing.

Data and Copyright

The rights of the published material shall belong to their respective authors. Articles published in HAAJ may be used under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International license, and may be read, copied, distributed, printed, searched, or linked to the full text of this journal without prior permission from the publisher or author, provided that HAAJ and the authors are acknowledged and not used for commercial purposes. Authors may include the work in institutional repositories or other publications as long as this journal is properly acknowledged and cited. The HAAJ editorial team encourages authors to disseminate their published work through any means (conferences, classes, lectures, talks, etc.) and/or platforms (social networks, repositories, websites, etc.).

Ethical statement and best practices

Authors who publish in HAAJ agree with the statement of ethical principles available on the web and developed in the document "Code of Conduct, Good Practices and Ethical Statement of Health and Addictions/Salud y Drogas" based on the "Core Practices" of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). Any conflict of interest that the authors may have should be explicitly reflected in the manuscript.
