Resumen

En los últimos años, la confluencia de diferentes áreas de investigación ha puesto de manifiesto que las dificultades en la regulación de las emociones (RE) juegan un papel central en el desarrollo y el mantenimiento de la psicopatología. El uso de estrategias no adaptativas para regular las emociones está relacionado con un amplio espectro de trastornos mentales como la ansiedad, la depresión, los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria o las adicciones. De esta forma, la RE se ha convertido en un importante constructo transdiagnóstico, constituyendo una dimensión común de una amplia variedad de trastornos y un importante objetivo de las técnicas psicoterapéuticas para diferentes problemas de salud mental, incluyendo las adicciones.
