Relación entre el riesgo de suicidio, estrategias de afrontamiento y autoeficacia en dependientes del alcohol.

El suicidio es una problemática que se encuentra asociada al consumo de alcohol y otras sustancias. En este estudio se analizó la relación entre el riesgo suicida, las habilidades de afrontamiento y autoeficacia en pacientes aclohólicos. Participaron un total de 75 sujetos con diagnóstico de trastorno por consumo de alcohol y que reciben tratamiento ambulatorio. Se evaluó el historial de consumo de sustancias, tratamientos previos y posibles antecedentes psiquiátricos. Asimismo, se utilizaron diferentes cuestionarios para evaluar variables relacionadas con la identificación de situaciones de riesgo, estrategias de afrontamiento, autoeficacia y la probabilidad de riesgo suicida. Los resultados mostraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en las variables de identificación de situaciones de riesgo y autoeficacia. Estos hallazgos pueden ser útiles de cara tener en cuenta la importancia de los programas de prevención de recaídas no solamente en relación al consumo de alcohol si no en la reducción del riesgo de intentos suicidas.
