Perfiles de consumo de sustancias y contextos recreativos en estudiantes universitarios argentinos

Resumen

El policonsumo de sustancias psicoactivas está asociado a consecuencias negativas para la salud. Asimismo, diferentes contextos recreativos se asocian al consumo de determinadas sustancias. En Argentina, sin embargo, son escasas las investigaciones que examinen el policonsumo de sustancias y, además, su asociación con contextos recreativos particulares. Este trabajo examinó, en 382 estudiantes universitarios argentinos perfiles de consumidores de sustancias y su relación con la frecuencia de participación en diferentes contextos recreativos. Los estudiantes completaron una encuesta online sobre consumo de sustancias psicoactivas y frecuencia de asistencia a diferentes contextos recreativos. Mediante un análisis de clases latentes se identificaron tres perfiles de consumidores que difirieron en su probabilidad de exhibir consumo de sustancias legales o ilegales. Las clases con policonsumo, comparadas con la clase de consumo exclusivo de alcohol, asistieron con una frecuencia significativamente mayor a festivales de música, conciertos, fiestas de cuarteto-peña y a fiestas en casa. Los hallazgos destacan las características de consumo de esta población -ubicándola en un espacio de vulnerabilidad incluso superior al típicamente encontrado para este rango etario- y su relación con la asistencia a contextos recreativos específicos.
